The Wellness Circuit Study

From the desk of LEF's Chairman, Gavriel Shaw

Since hearing Dr. Wallach's cassette tape "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" as a young boy in my father's car, I have remained deeply curious about the ways and means of achieving a good, healthy, and long life.

Dr. Wallach revealed startling facts:

  • The average life expectancy of MDs in the US was just 55 years
  • Physicians received only half a day of education about vitamins and minerals during their seven-year degree
  • The third highest cause of death was essentially medical negligence—what we now call iatrogenic death

These revelations sparked a profound and earnest interest in what creates long-term sustainable health, leading me on a path exploring various health protocols—from red light therapy to cryotherapy, blue lasers, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, and investing more in supplements than most people spend on alcohol.

The Wellness Circuit Study represents a formalized scientific approach to gathering the data necessary to identify which treatments and protocols correlate with improvements in longevity biomarkers. This large-scale observational study captures a breadth and depth of wellness practice data across premium wellness facilities and daily life conditions unprecedented in this field.

Two key factors make this possible:

  1. The modernization of statistical analysis through advancements in AI
  2. The Longevity Evidence Foundation's independence from pharmaceutical industry agendas that typically restrict analysis to what serves drug testing and sales

If you recognize health as a holistic endeavor with many moving parts, you'll appreciate why our comprehensive data collection is essential to unlocking Real World Evidence. We can transform the status quo of wellness by organizing a rigorously scientific approach to real-life wellness practices.

The study will involve dozens of locations in close proximity to achieve high network effects and collaboration among partnering facilities. A simple poster draws attention from those already interested in longevity and biometrics. From there, our research begins cost-efficiently: participants download our app and connect their existing wearable devices (Fitbit, Whoop, Oura Ring, Apple Watch, and others). They can also manually log their therapeutic activities, enhancing the integrity and insight of our data.

Through this process, correlations will be determined and scientific papers published, making evidence-based longevity insights accessible to all. This will significantly impact conversations within the wellness industry and provide cutting-edge insights to scientists, healthcare providers, and individual enthusiasts pursuing optimal self-care through lifestyle factors including sleep, nutrition, exercise, supplements, rest, and therapeutic treatments.
